1962
"El Centro Social Obrero" was created by a collective of Mexican construction workers from Laborers Union Local 261. Built on a tradition of radical grassroots action, this group addressed the need for language instruction and employment training.
1968
El Centro Social Obrero officially evolved into the Mission Language and Vocational School (MLVS).
1972
MLVS purchases the building on 2929 19th St., allowing them to expand their instructional programs.
TODAY
MLVS continues to proudly serve the community, offering various services and programs including the Medical Assisting and Professional Culinary programs.
